Midjourney Style Keywords
Combine style, surface quality and palette rather than collecting unrelated adjectives.
#Common directions
- Minimal, clean, modern.
- Cinematic, film, moody.
- Illustration or hand-drawn.
#Material and light
Matte, glossy and metallic describe surfaces; soft and hard lighting describe illumination. Select one or two compatible style directions and keep the palette stable.
#Make the brief reusable
Record the goal, setting, style and output specifications. Change one variable per round. If results vary, check the clarity of the subject, required preserved elements and destination ratio before adding more keywords.
For public-facing work, retain original assets, versioned prompts/parameters and approved comparison images. Share these in a team document or asset library.
#Example production sequence
For an illustrative brand-campaign asset, explore three directions, choose one, then constrain style, palette, framing and ratio. Use two or three controlled revisions to stabilize subject and background before producing destination sizes.
For video, separate short shots and unify editing/color later. For copy, approve the outline before expansion and factual/brand review. These are distinct workflows, not capabilities automatically supplied by an image prompt.
#Troubleshooting
Reduce variables when output is unstable. Fix palette/style and use suitable references when it drifts. Specify preserved details for edit tasks. Choose the platform before the ratio.
#Retrospective
Record the goal, prompt, result assessment and next improvement. Keep observations specific to the actual output.
