v0 Prompt Techniques
Write a frontend requirements brief rather than promotional adjectives. Define the component, modules, states and priority device before describing the visual direction.
#A reusable structure
textGoal: What component or page do you want? Content: What must appear? States: Which interaction and error states are needed? Layout: How should desktop and mobile differ? Style: Which visual constraints should apply?
“Make a sophisticated, futuristic, minimal, smooth page” leaves the page type, content and behavior undefined.
#A concrete alternative
textCreate a checkout page. - left side: cart summary - right side: payment form - desktop: two-column layout - mobile: single-column layout - include empty, loading, and error states - clean minimalist style, black primary button
#Five useful requirement groups
Specify component type; the priority of headings, main actions and supporting information; loading/error/disabled/empty states; responsive priorities; and brand/layout constraints.
Include hover and selected states where relevant. Without states, a draft can resemble a presentation image rather than a product component.
#Constrain later rounds
Keep the layout while changing colors; keep the structure while adding mobile breakpoints; keep the hierarchy while reducing decoration; or keep behavior while switching to a card layout. Change one dimension at a time.
Think as a product manager or frontend reviewer: explain an implementable component, not merely an attractive atmosphere.
