Pika Prompt Framework
Write a short-video brief rather than describing only a character's performance. Specify the subject, action, setting, style and duration; use reference or endpoint-frame tools where available.
#A usable structure
textsubject + action + environment + style + duration + aspect ratio
textA young creator speaks directly to camera, gentle smile and confident tone, clean studio background, social video style, 4-second clip, 9:16
Each variable can be adjusted separately, making this easier to control than a list of adjectives.
#Important fields
Subject: be specific, such as a young founder in a casual blazer, an anime character in a blue hoodie, or a beauty creator at a desk.
Action: specify speaking to camera, reacting with surprise, singing a short phrase or nodding while talking—not just walking or turning.
Duration and aspect ratio: a three- to five-second first pass is easier to evaluate.
#Common mistakes
- Describing style without an action goal can produce attractive but unusable footage.
- Combining transformations, transitions, strong effects, intense emotion and cinematic styling in one sentence creates competing demands.
- Omitting the destination leaves composition unclear: portrait talking clips and landscape character shots need different framing.
- Ignoring existing references forces the model to guess. Where supported, use Pikaframes or local-edit tools to specify reference images and start/end states.
